The new Chaufferie des Tarterêts heating plant stands out as a metropolitan landmark, visible from the RER train line and anchored in the landscape of the Seine Valley. With its chimney, it reinterprets the site’s industrial heritage and marks the neighborhood’s opening onto the Greater Paris metropolitan area. Located on the hillside, at the same altitude as the train station, it connects the Hauts-Tarterêts plateau to the riverbanks and becomes the center of a vast networked park.

This landscape network follows the topography to connect existing neighborhoods, facilities, and open spaces. It extends the urban renewal strategy already underway and creates common ground across the territory. Through its position, the Chaufferie becomes a point of balance and convergence, both a landmark in the wider landscape and a place of proximity for residents.

Around the facility, the circular garden matches the geometry of the building. Pathways run along the facades and lead to an outdoor theater, a reading garden, and a terrace opening onto the market square. These spaces are used for a variety of purposes and encourage daily interaction. The tree layer reinforces the existing canopy and creates a protective setting for the glass facades.

A place of production, relaxation, and sharing, La Chaufferie is part of an ecological transition approach and has become a technical, landscape, and social landmark in the heart of Les Tarterêts. #cut
